v1.4.3 - Guided tours, and act on any nest from anywhere

Guided tours now walk you through the home screen and the quick-add sheet, and you can act on any nest from anywhere without switching to it first. A typed title fills in the merchant and card, hint cards look the same on both platforms, and a run of fixes keeps a stored card's last four digits out of what your co-members see.

v1.4.2 - A merge that stays merged

Merging two shops together used to come undone the moment the next receipt named the one you merged away. Now it holds, for shops and for accounts alike, and undoing it still gives you the old name back.

  • A receipt that arrives naming a shop you merged away is filed under the shop you kept, instead of bringing the old name back and the duplicate with it
  • The same holds for two accounts you merged, so a charge that turns up under an old account name lands on the account you kept
  • Undo still works both ways: undo a merge and the old name goes back to being its own shop, findable and usable again
  • The history entry an account merge leaves behind no longer names the account, so a co-member reading it cannot see a name that could carry your card's last four digits
  • On a settled period, insights that need Plus now say what they are and how to get them, instead of leaving a quiet gap in the page

v1.4.1 - Sharper receipt reading, and accounts that stay yours

Scanning reads the total and the tip more carefully, so a bill opens at the amount you were charged. Alongside it, a run of fixes keeps your own accounts, and your own membership, to yourself.

  • A scan tells a printed total from a handwritten one, and reads what a card slip charged before the tip, so a restaurant bill and a warehouse receipt both open at what you were actually charged
  • When the figures on a receipt do not add up, the amount is only ever corrected upward, so a delivery or resort fee nobody read stops pulling the total below what you paid
  • A receipt you zoom into stays in frame, so it can no longer be dragged off screen with no way back
  • A slow cold open pulses gently behind the wordmark, so a held start reads as working rather than stuck
  • Looping motion holds still when your phone asks for reduced motion
  • An expense attaches only to your own card or bank account, never to a co-member's
  • An account you never named shows a co-member a plain kind word instead of a name that could carry its last four digits
  • Covered by someone else's annual Plus membership? You are no longer shown as holding Plus yourself, and the members list counts people instead of naming a plan

v1.4.0 - Undo a merge, and steadier splits

Merging two shops into one can now be undone for a month. Alongside it, a run of fixes keeps your splits and your period balances landing where they should.

  • Changed your mind about merging two shops together? Undo it for up to 30 days, from the shop you kept, and every expense goes back where it came from
  • An expense you backdate into an earlier period takes its balance with it, so each period totals up what it actually holds
  • Adding an expense under a saved shop rule keeps the shares that rule sets
  • A repeating expense is split by the rule your nest holds now, even when the rule changed while the expense was being added
  • In a nest of one, changing your split rule stops repricing the expenses you already added, settled ones included
  • On iPhone, the delete confirmation opens when you pick Delete in a Manage list, and the nest periods screen has its way back
  • If creating a nest goes wrong, you get a message that says what happened instead of a raw error

v1.3.10 - Fixes and improvements

A round of fixes to the small things, and quiet groundwork for what comes next.

  • Alert banners show the colors they are meant to, so a warning reads as one at a glance
  • The close button on a sheet sits above the screen it covers, so it is always there to tap
  • On the phone, the invites you have not answered yet load in your account panel
  • A draft you start stays with you and the nest you started it in

v1.3.9 - One merchant, and notifications that stay in their nest

Two of the same shop in your list can now become one, and the expenses come with it. The bell stops mixing your nests together, and a push says which nest it happened in.

  • Fold a duplicate merchant into the one you keep, and every expense filed under the old name moves across with the category you already set
  • The bell shows the nest you are in, so a second nest's rows stop turning up interleaved with the one you are reading
  • A push banner names the nest it happened in and carries the receipt, which is the one place the nest was never on screen
  • The unread count stops counting rows the list will not show you
  • A member your standing rule does not name is shown the even split they will actually be charged, instead of 0%
  • On the phone, Manage merchants and bank accounts open and act instead of doing nothing
  • Choose whether repeating expenses may open new periods, a nest setting that starts from the size of your nest and puts a once per period checkbox on the expense
  • A card shows the name you gave it instead of its brand and last four digits, and the digits you stored are never read back onto the screen
  • Adding cash gives you the cash account you already have instead of a second one, so your cash history stops splitting across two rows
  • An account you just added stops disappearing when something goes wrong mid-save, and a row whose account is missing no longer freezes the feed

v1.3.8 - Notifications that say what happened

A notification now tells you what changed and takes you straight to it, in whichever nest it happened. Receipt scanning got sharper alongside it: turn a sideways page the right way up, and a handwritten tip stops going missing.

  • Tapping a notification opens the thing it is about, even when it happened in a nest you were not looking at
  • A notification says what actually happened - what was added, who added it, which nest it was in, and the receipt beside it
  • Email for the three you should not miss: your invite was accepted, the split rule changed, or a repeating expense needs an amount
  • An invite link shared in a message unfurls into a card naming who invited you, and opens a real page when you are signed out
  • Turn a sideways receipt the right way up while you review it, before anything is read off it
  • A handwritten tip is read off the card slip, so a tipped restaurant bill records what you actually paid instead of the pre-tip total
  • A scanned expense goes through the split step, so you can adjust the split in the moment instead of it landing on the standing rule
  • Repeat purchases from the same shop stay under one merchant, so the category you set carries over
  • The balance card pans across a nest bigger than four, adding an expense right after a nest switch no longer bounces, and a split rule saved as someone joins keeps their share

v1.3.7 - Fixes from the first week of testing

Everything the first week of the closed test turned up, fixed. Joining a nest, adding an expense, and catching up after the wifi drops all behave now.

  • Joining a nest from an invite now folds you into the member you were standing in for, so Members stops listing you twice and the balances update on the spot
  • Your phone catches up on its own after the wifi drops, so an expense a nest member added while you were offline shows up without a pull to refresh
  • Adding an expense no longer closes the app
  • Spending patterns on a quiet month draws dots you can actually see and tap
  • Searching in a picker no longer loses a character to the keyboard sliding up
  • A receipt scan that fails on a connection problem now says so and offers a retry, instead of calling your photo unreadable

Repeating expenses moved to their own screen, a payment can now cover part of what a pair owes, and the periods you have not settled yet are easier to see.
